Gender and Management: Cases From the Caribbean

In recent years, many persons in the Caribbean have commented on the advances women have made and consider issues associated with gender and management to no longer have any currency.

In Gender and Management: Cases from the Caribbean, Linda Claudia de Four and Gwendoline Williams of the Women and Development Studies Group, University of the West Indies, refute this point of view and bring forcefully to the readers' consciousness the social construction of gender: how behaviour and roles are given 'gendered' meanings, how work is divided symbolically to express gender differences and how this is all accomplished both subtly and blatantly in the culture of management in the Caribbean.
