Masud Marufovich Rasuli (1925-1996) is a famous literary scholar from Uzbekistan, Doctor of Philology, author of many works on the mutual influence of national literatures. For more than thirty years, he headed the Department of Russian Literature of the Institute of Language and Literature of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, Honored Worker of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

"Confession" is the author's only work in the genre of memoirs, where he talks about the fate of his own father and close relatives who were subjected to repression by the totalitarian regime.
