Creative English for Caribbean Primary Schools is a series of English Language texts designed for Caribbean Primary Schools. The main objectives are: to develop skills in the use of language, both oral and written. to develop students’ powers of imagination, judgment and insight. to stimulate and encourage reading for pleasure and understanding. Each book consists of between 18-24 Units, featuring the reading of prose and verse for understanding and appreciation, vocabulary usage, spelling activities, grammatical structures and creative writing. Its wise use will depend on a teacher’s willingness to adapt and modify, using initiative and insight. The extracts selected, both prose and verse, are appropriate to children's interests, and experiences, and challenge their intelligence and insights. Oral activities focusing on picture illustrations and comprehension pieces precede a range of written practices.
