The bond between husband and wife remains unshaken amid the tempest of all-vanquishing time when it is overshadowed by an even greater bond – the personal relationship of each with the Saviour God. If the spouses are aware that ‘Christ is in the midst of them’ and that He blesses their common life, they are strengthened. They hasten to reject every hostile thought against one another. They become watchful in every word, every act, every movement, lest they grieve Him Who is present in
their midst and unites them by His grace. In this way their union is sanctified and made honourable and unbreakable, for the Lord Himself becomes the Guardian of their marriage.
